Holditalia SpA
Year: 2007
Total area: 1.800 sq m
The new cultural meeting centre was set up inside the area occupied by the Ermenegildo Zegna wool factory, and it involved the renovation and integration of two buildings: a residential building from the 1930s and another building designed by Pietro Porcinai in the 1960s, destined to become a greenhouse/winter garden.
A series of exposition areas and a cafeteria were created in the greenhouse. The residential building was transformed into a comprehensive archives centre aimed at storing documents, photographs, technical drawings, sample collections and objects generated in 100 years of industrial activity.
The external connecting areas between the new buildings and surrounding spaces were given particular attention with the help of architect Paolo Pejrone.
